In the wiki it says she stayed with it until she killed it and its body floated to the surface but 1. I assume the corpse wouldnt just instantly start floating to the surface 2. The blood could potentially attract other predators (not that she couldnt clearly handle them) and 3.

I entered her base and the Prawn was docked in the Moonpool. Another cutscene triggered and she told me to go sabotage the Satellite at Delta Station. I found the components and made them and went there and put the Satellite into Test Mode. I then went back to Maida's base and her Prawn is now gone and I am locked out of the base.
