Tivo remote not working with new batteries

Stream 4K. I bought two of these when I cut the cord a few months back. So far, I'm satisfied with the box, but the battery life on the remote sucks. I've replaced the batteries more than 8 times between both devices. One device is in my living room and barely gets use because there's usually no one in there.
